Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the Pakistan Under-19 squad for the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026, scheduled to be played in Zimbabwe and Namibia from 15 January to 6 February 2026. The announcement comes as Pakistan U19 continue their campaign in the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai.
With a strong blend of experience and young talent, Pakistan enter the tournament aiming to reclaim past glory after finishing as semi-finalists in the previous edition.
Farhan Yousaf Retains Captaincy
The PCB has shown confidence in Farhan Yousaf, naming the 19-year-old middle-order batter as captain once again. Farhan’s leadership and consistency with the bat have been key factors behind Pakistan’s recent success at the junior level.
Usman Khan has been appointed vice-captain, adding stability to the leadership group as Pakistan prepare for a challenging World Cup campaign.
Only One Change From Asia Cup Squad
The Pakistan U19 selectors have made just one change to the squad currently participating in the ACC U19 Asia Cup in Dubai.
- Umar Zaib (right-arm fast bowler) has been included
- Mohammad Huzaifa (left-arm spinner) has been left out
The decision highlights Pakistan’s intent to strengthen their pace bowling attack, especially on African pitches expected to assist fast bowlers.
Ali Raza: A Key Player to Watch
One of the standout names in the squad is Ali Raza, the right-arm fast bowler who impressed at the ICC U19 World Cup 2024. At just 15 years of age during the last tournament, Raza produced a memorable spell of 4 for 34 against Australia in the semi-final, finishing with nine wickets in three matches.
His inclusion adds valuable experience and firepower to Pakistan’s bowling lineup.
Tri-Series in Zimbabwe to Aid World Cup Preparation
Ahead of the World Cup, Pakistan U19 will compete in a tri-series featuring Afghanistan and hosts Zimbabwe, scheduled from 25 December to 6 January. The series will provide crucial match practice and help players adapt to local conditions before the global event begins.
